PAULO FONSECA VS COINCECAO- TACTICAL SHORT NOTES
CONCEICAO - Lines up in 4-4-2/ 4-2-3-1 - Uses a 2-2 build up - Possession heavy approach; recycle the ball in defense before moving the ball forward. - Flexible towards possession. Happy to have more or less than 50% possession - Forwards rotating with Fullbacks and wingbacks and swapping positions - fullbacks will combine to set up quick 1-2s and triangles to help progress the attack - Without the ball they play in a 4-2-1-3 - Ball oriented pressing - Play with a very high line - FB's pushed up to defend higher. Mids and wingers drop FONSECA - Serie A taught him man to man pressing and importance of counter attack - Made him change from 4-2-3-1 to a 3-4-3 - Desire for possession control was not possible in Serie A - Pushes up the goalkeeper and splits the CB's and have the FB's push as wide as near the byline. - uses a 3-2 build up pattern with one of the wingers tucking inside to form a passing diamond in the center of the pitch with the double.pivot in the 4-2-3-1. - Lille settle into a 3-2-5 formation with one of the FB joining the CBs. - Likes to isolate his wingers with the opposition FB's and have his wingers win the 1v1. - Most of the progressive passes come from the half spaces - the 2 advanced players in the passing diamond mentioned earlier play in these half spaces and act as main chance creators - 4-2-3-1 off the ball with a man oriented pressing system - Structure a bit similar to Galtier's 4-4-2 but Fonseca's system is more agressive and man oriented - midfielder stay close to the opposition mids and try to cut out passes to them - Good level of high turnovers Rohit Rajeev @keralista (X) |
